Research Scientist II
Jelmer received his PhD in Cell Biology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Stanford, CA, USA. He worked on
dynamic cellular reorganization of the actin in microtubule cytoskeleton and the cellular processes they organize such as vesicle trafficking, endocytosis, exocytosis and cellular morphogenesis. Currently, he is working on live cell imaging and cell biology of cellular mechanisms of diabetes.
Outside of work, Jelmer enjoys running and hiking in nature.
