Nivedita graduated from Wellesley College May 2023 with a B.A. in Biochemistry and a minor in Economics. Her research experiences in college include working at the Whitehead Institute's Oni Lab to elucidate the role of tumor-associated glycosyltransferases in mediating immune suppression in pancreatic cancer, and working at Rutgers University's Cancer Health and Justice Lab to understand how social determinants of health contribute to colorectal cancer risk in her home state of New Jersey. Nivedita is interested in learning more about the genetic mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases. She hopes to better understand how environmental influences and genetics interact to impact progression of Type 2 Diabetes and obesity. She is currently working on the Natural Genetic Variation/ Stimulation project in the Claussnitzer lab.

Some of Nivedita's hobbies include photography, hiking, cooking new foods, and discovering new music.
