Qianbin (Winnie) Zhang
Winnie is a Postdoctoral Associate co-mentored by Melina Claussnitzer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and Evan Rosen at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She joined the Claussnitzer lab in 2022, and works on characterization of human white adipocyte subtypes across multiple phenotypic modalities, and alongside, explores about the factors predisposing to the development of specific adipocyte subtypes. Winnie got her Ph.D degree in Genes, Development and Disease from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, studying about adipose tissue progenitors and how postnatal manipulations can have long term affect into adulthood. Winnie obtained her B.S. in Biotechnology from SYSU in Guangzhou, China, where she is originally from.
In her spare time, Winnie likes to do bouldering, and explore breweries. She also has two lovely Japanese Akitas and likes to go hiking and road trip with them.
