Sophia Metz is a postdoctoral researcher co-mentored by Melina Claussnitzer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Boston (US), and Camilla Scheele at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research in Copenhagen (DK). She joined the lab in January 2024 and works on the underlying genetic make-up that orchestrates commitment of adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (AMSC), as well as technique optimizations for working with AMSC’s in vitro. Sophia obtained her PhD in variant-to-function research in adipose tissue at the University of Copenhagen (DK).

In her free time Sophia enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking and cooking.
